Four Seasons, Budapest

Four Seasons, Budapest

From the Chihuly hanging in the reception to the piano bar, this is an extraordinary hotel. It is the the most beautiful Art Nouveau hotel I have seen. It's a shame that the same level of attention was not paid inside the rooms. There are two great experiences to share from this hotel. First, when I arrived in an airport car at the hotel and walked down the long corridor to the reception, the receptionist greeted me 'Good evening Mr. Baruchin'. How did she know? They must have radios between the bell-hops and the receptionist. How every they did it, I was really amused. The second important thing about this hotel is the chocolate - profiled separately here. Room Service at the Budapest Hilton

Room Service at the Budapest Hilton

We didn't arrive in Budapest till the evening, our 7am flight having been cancelled by a London airport unable to cope with about 2cm snow, while, of course, Hungary had no problem with about 5cm. Because of our late arrival, we ordered room service, which was, like everything else at the Hilton, really well-presented. It was not how we had planned to spend our first night in the Castle District, but it turned out to be very romantic after all.
